Fail Closed When the Canon Is Silent

Building the reference kernel kept reaching things the RSM canon names but cannot yet express. Each time, the right move was to refuse and record the gap, not to invent the missing meaning in code.

RSM

Fieldnote

Durable but Undiscoverable

When Wellzai first used the RSM kernel only through its public protocol, offers that had been stored correctly could not be found. The record was right. The view that discovery reads had never been refreshed.

Who Declares a Formation?

RSM requires that the criteria and the authority for declaring a Formation be explicit and auditable, but prescribes no universal threshold. Readiness is Wellzai's judgement; establishment is an authorized act. Who holds that authority among many parties is still open.

Possibility Is Not Agreement

The most consequential line in coordination runs between a computed arrangement and an organized one. Commitments, not viability, carry an arrangement across it, and only an authorized act completes the crossing.

Reading Your Own Records Is a Disclosure

The same adoption test showed that letting people see their own capabilities, offers and grants needs an authorized read from the canonical source, not a second copy, and that whether a name is discoverable is a privacy question nobody had yet governed.

Distinctions That Must Not Collapse

Coordination rarely fails loudly. It fails when a system merges two things for convenience, such as capability and capacity, a claim and its evidence, a configuration and a formation, so the Regenerative Systems Model writes those distinctions into its types and its runtime behaviour.

Certification Is Not Regeneration

A certificate can evidence that a specified requirement was met. Regeneration is a question about what actually happens to living systems over time, and the word "regenerative" proves neither.

Answer the Question, Keep the Evidence

A regenerative network should not ask participants to surrender their records in order to be useful. The Regenerative Systems Model moves the question to the evidence, returns a governed answer, and lets Wellzai reason across the network without becoming its system of record.

Affiliation Enables Representation, Not Participation

A person needs no institutional wrapper to take part in a regenerative system. The Regenerative Systems Model begins with the Self, treats Participant as a role rather than an organization, and requires explicit, checkable authority before anyone acts for someone else.

Unknown Is Not False

In a network where participants keep their own records, missing information is normal. Unavailable is not false, offline is not invalid, and an empty search means "we do not know of one", not "none exists".

Should Trust Be a Score?

The sources behind Wellzai consistently refuse a single score. Trust emerges from identity, authority, provenance, evidence, relationship history, assertions and observed behaviour. What replaces the number for someone who has to decide quickly?

Models Propose, Participants Commit

What a model produces is derived intelligence. It is not canonical fact, not authority and not commitment, and the line between an AI suggestion, a delegated AI action and a human or institutional commitment has to be auditable.

Is a Cooperative's Commitment Its Members'?

Formations can act as participants in larger formations. A cooperative may expose aggregate capacity without exposing each farm, but its commitment does not mean each member has committed unless it holds that authority.

Is a Name Discoverable?

Connecting Wellzai to the RSM kernel showed that whether a person's or organization's name is discovery data is an ungoverned privacy decision. Broad area can be discoverable while precise location stays protected. What should be exposed by default?

The Market Does Not Decide What Is True About Soil

The demand side describes what the market values; it does not determine ecological truth. A requirement, the evidence, the evaluation and the resulting assertion stay distinct, even when a market chooses to reward a condition.
